When building a manaless dredge deck, it's essential to consider the potential threats that opponents may pose and develop strategies to counter them. One of the most crucial aspects is understanding how to handle anti-graveyard hate cards.

A common example of an opponent's setup is Leyline of the Void, which can be devastating if not properly addressed. In such cases, it's vital to bring in cards that can kill enchantments, such as Spell Snare, Mental Misstep, and Annul. These spells provide protection for your graveyard at a minimal cost.

Another crucial aspect is sideboarding anti-graveyard hate. When going the counter route, the low costs and specific type of hoser spells can be advantageous. However, if you're facing a dedicated graveyard hate sideboard, it's essential to limit the opponent's opportunities as much as possible. Trying to be faster can backfire against Leyline of the Void or cheap permanent/instant-speed graveyard removal.

A key strategy for manaless dredge is to always attempt to discard your powerful creatures and reanimate them in one go if possible. This approach minimizes the need to spend a turn removing hate cards or keep enough mana open to counter them. Unfortunately, control strategies often conflict with Reanimator's goal of quickly bringing out a powerful creature.

To address this issue, it's recommended to incorporate white (Disenchant) and/or blue (countering) into your deck to improve artifact and enchantment removal. A faster combo can be achieved by playing Swamp, Dark Ritual, Putrid Imp/Entomb, discard, and Exhume in sequence. Additionally, controlling the opponent's solutions is crucial; this can be done by sideboarding cards that disrupt their plans.

By understanding these strategies and adapting to your opponents' moves, you'll increase your chances of success with a manaless dredge deck. Remember to prioritize anti-graveyard hate, protect your graveyard, and control the board to ensure victory.
